In the Room
I had asked for a first floor room when I booked and the staff did an excellent job of accomodating that request
Restaurant menu is a little limited, mostly high end.
The resturant was excellent, both in the quality of food and service
Quiet,clean ,comfortable,access ability
The room was very spacious. Excellent location, close to the airport.
It was difficult to sleep because of the noise from the fridge. We could not eat in the bar because we had a 10 year old child with us. The child's menu in the diningroom was very poor, offering little apart from chips. Although the food was good on the whole, we felt it was overpriced. The roast beef had to be sent back as it was overcooked - We had asked for medium rare.
This hotel is clean, but somewhat outdated with inconvenient layout with long hallways. They advertise Wi-Fi in rooms, however, I couldn't connect because they "reached maximum number of users". Turns out they have a quota which is insufficient to provide everyone with access on busy days. This is unacceptable for business travel. The hotel is way overpriced for what they have and offer. I guess it is for lack of competition. With only 4 hotels in Gander you often have no choice, but stay where rooms are available. Would try not to stay there again if possible.
Proximity to the highway
The fact that we were put in room with a view of the metal structure. The thing I dislike about this survey is the fact that you have a word that best describes -gay friendly I would hope you treat all your customers the same, whether they are gay or not
Very friendly staff.
In room fridges could use an update as are aged.
Front desk staff were excellent, cleanliness and size of our room (included kitchenette), excellent dining room (Mystic), and good location. Can't wait to go back.
Not really a dislike, but would have liked a microwave in the kitchenette.
There was a prospector's convention being held at the hotel and when the band started at 9pm it was heard throughout the facility. I called the front desk to question them about it and was basically told they will play until about midnight & she was sorry for the noise but couldn't do anything about it.
The room was very clean, and comfortable; as well the food was fantastic. The service was awesome. The front desk put us in larger, more recently docorated rooms without us asking.
comfy bed, quiet place
The smell when you get in the hallways or room... it's like the carpets are keeping a stench from when smoking was allowed. Also, supposedly renovated rooms were probably renovated in 1976...
Close to shopping in city centre and easy access to the Trans Canada. Courteous staff and adequate facilities.
Parking was at a premium, but they did have permission to park overflow in a large lot across the street, so it was not much of an inconvenience.
Bar staff were very friendly and helpful
Restaurant was very pricey and the cost of the hotel was way too high
The restaurant on site was excellent!
The hotel itself and rooms are a bit dated but they were clean
